As a world-class city of arts and culture, Tokyo will promote the creation and dissemination of arts and culture, and
develop a variety of projects that enhance the attractiveness of Tokyo.
The Arts Council Tokyo works to develop a foundation for the creation of new arts and culture, develop programs that pursue Tokyo's uniqueness and diversity, develop human resources to support diverse arts and culture activities, and promote international arts and culture exchange.
Purpose of establishment
- In cooperation with arts organizations, private organizations and NPOs, we will further promote the creation of arts and culture in Tokyo and enhance its attractiveness.
- We will contribute to the creation of unique arts and culture befitting an international city, Tokyo, and to the building of a vibrant local community full of creativity.
- While respecting the autonomy and creativity of arts and culture, we will establish a system and environment for the creation of new arts and culture from a professional and long-term perspective.
Positioning of the Arts Council Tokyo
アーツカウンシル東京は、公益財団法人東京都歴史文化財団の一組織として、東京芸術文化評議会での政策提言やこれを踏まえた東京都の芸術文化政策のもと、事業を実施します。
また、事業評価およびカウンシルボードでの議論等を踏まえ、東京都への事業提案等も行っていきます。
