Business Overview
The Uraraka Art Festival is an art festival with the theme of "painting" that uses 9 venues in the Yanaka, Nezu and Sendagi (commonly known as Yane 1000) areas in Taito Ward, Tokyo. The area flourished as a temple town in the Edo period and is now adjacent to Tokyo University of the Arts, a place where history and art meet. Taking advantage of these characteristics, the exhibition will be held at Kanno-ji Temple, Jisho-in Temple, and HAGISO, which is designed and operated by graduates of the architecture department of Tokyo University of the Arts. It is an event where you can walk around the Yane 1000 area while experiencing the charm of the paintings. Young curators such as Rintaro Fuse, Yuuki Ito, and Yu Nishiki planned the exhibition with their own views on paintings in each exhibition hall. The participating artists were mainly young artists such as Takuma Tsuzuki, Ayaka Nishihara and Yukari Motoyama, as well as famous painters such as Izumi Kato and Masato Kobayashi. The group of 7 curators and 18 participating artists explored painting across generations.
