Business Overview
"Cantat" is a new word that refers to events such as concerts, workshops, and performances for choral singing held intensively for a certain period of time. With the aim of promoting choral music in Japan and promoting choral activities as a culture, the festival has been held every year since 1996. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was postponed or partially held, but in 2023 it was held as usual for the first time in 4 years. Comprising the two pillars of introducing choral music from around the world and reaffirming Japanese choral culture, the event held seminars and concerts with world-renowned conductors and composers as lecturers, as well as a concert that delved anew into the music of Akira Miyoshi, who celebrated 10 years since his death and 90 years since his birth. In addition, the "Choral Conducting Competition for Young Conductors," which has been held every other year since 2008, was held with an audience for the first time in 5 years. It makes a great contribution to the development of young people who will be responsible for the future of Japanese chorus.
