Business Overview
In July 2020, just before the opening of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the blockbuster play "HIROSHIMA Seven Streams of the Ota River" by Canadian director Robert Lepage, who is a leader in the world performing arts, will be performed. Inspired by the vitality of Hiroshima, which recovered from the atomic bombing, this work premiered in Edinburgh in 1994 as a 3 part series. It is a work-in-progress style in which new scenes are added as performances are repeated, and the whole is updated. A series of 5 parts was completed when Bunkamura Theatre Cocoon was performed in 95, and a series of 7 parts was completed in 96. After that, he toured around the world and received such high praise that he was called "the history of mankind in the 20 century" and has been handed down to this day as a legend of theater history. With the 75 year anniversary of the end of World War II and the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games at the same time, the project was restarted in order to perform in Japan in 2020, a year that the world is watching closely. After a new world tour, a triumphant return of the complete version at Theatre Cocoon.

Tokyu Bunka Mura Co., Ltd. was established in November 1988 through a joint investment by Tokyu Department Store Co., Ltd. and Tokyu Corporation to operate the Bunkamura cultural complex. Grand opening on September 3, 1989 as a cultural complex with five halls (Orchard Hall, Theatre Cocoon, The Museum, Le Cinema 1 and 2) and related facilities. Since then, it has been actively engaged in cultural activities in accordance with its objectives in the fields of music, theater, art and video. In July 2012, Tokyu Theater Orb also began operating.
