Business Overview
In December 2015, the number of works composed for Aida reached 100. Two recitals will be held with the aim of making these works known to a wider audience and developing a new repertoire by contemporary Japanese composers. The first recital will focus on solo works composed for Aida. Atsuhiko Gondai, Momoko Oya, and Masamichi Kinoshita will commission Tomoko Fukui to compose a vibraphone solo and a snare drum solo, and will also repeat works commissioned in the past. The second recital will feature a contemporary piece on the theme of the encounter between Japanese instruments and percussion instruments, and Harunao Izao will be commissioned to produce a duo piece for the sho and percussion instruments. Through two performances, one by a solo and the other by an ensemble, it will be an opportunity for many listeners to know the various charms of percussion instruments.
