Business Overview
[Participation in Festival d’Avignon Off 2015] "1969: A Space Odyssey? Oddity!" is a reimagining of the setting into outer space, based on Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit. At that time, the year "1969," when humans successfully landed on the moon, is being repeated. The three astronauts asked if science has transcended history. The latest work with a view to overseas performances of the opening pennant race, which is said to be energetic, surreal, and evoke a transformation of meaning. [Opening pennant race]
For the opening pennant race, the director Murai Yu and the actor Taka.o.k.a. The group was organized by Takuro SAKI in Tokyo in 2006.
His creative philosophy is “Performance is destruction!” and he is good at deconstructing and reconstructing classical plays. Aware of the fusion of the physicality that has developed Japan's unique martial arts and the spirituality that has grown up in Japan's unique culture, which is represented by manga, anime, and games, the film will create an energetic and surreal world. The worldview evokes a transformation of meaning.
In 2009, 3 years after the formation, the group held overseas performances (New York, USA) and received theater reviews in various media such as The New York Times.
In 2012, he received the Excellence Award and Audience Award at the Young Directors Competition 2011 sponsored by the Japan Directors Association.
In 2013, he received the Encouragement Prize at the Toga Drama Contest sponsored by the Performing Arts Foundation.
In 2014, he received the Setagaya Ward Art Award for "Hisho." Up-and-coming company in Tokyo/Japan.
