FY27 Term I Creation Grant [Single-Year Grant Program]

Business Overview

The question of how artists and public institutions should preserve installation works, which are more difficult to preserve and reproduce than simple media such as paintings and sculptures, has recently emerged in the field of modern art, where forms of expression are diversifying. Through the re-exhibition of "I/O - A Composer's Room," one of the representative works exhibited at "Yokohama Triennale 2014" (Yokohama Museum of Art) by Yuko Mori, who creates installation works in which things move with machines using the whole space, this project records and creates documentary images, interviews with the artist herself, texts and drawings to show the complicated process of setting up works and the important points for leaving works. In addition, by inviting specialists such as technical staff and intellectuals from adjacent fields such as architecture to hold a symposium, we hope to provide an opportunity to explore methods of "recording, preservation and reproduction" from multiple perspectives.

Period of Activity / Project
