Business Overview
It was an overseas performance of "Enthusiastic Dance Danced at the Graveyard," which was choreographed by Ko MUROBUSHI for the students of the WS "School of the Moment" held in Tokyo, and performed on November 19, 2013 at "'1000 Nights and One Night outside' produced by Ko MUROBUSHI" (Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Building 1, 3rd floor). It is the European premiere at the Implestunts International Dance Festival, which has the largest scale and quality in the world, and is expected to attract a lot of attention as it is a choreographed work by Ko Murofushi, who has been presenting mainly solo works at Implestunts. Profile
[Ko Murobushi]
Dancer and choreographer. Founder of Ko & Edge Co. Studied under Tatsumi Hijikata in 1969. Participated in the founding and launch of Dairakudakan in 1972. Edited and published the butoh newspaper "Intense Season" in 1974, while also producing the female butoh group "Ariadone no Kai." In 1976, he founded Hokuryukyo in Fukui Prefecture and led the butoh group "Sebi." Beginning with the success of his Paris performance of "The Last Paradise - The Gate Beyond" in 1978, he has continued to inspire audiences around the world as a wandering, solitary butoh dancer, including in Europe and South America. Recent notable solo works include "Edge," "Quick Silver," "Improvisation No. 2," and, with Ko & Edge Co., "Beautiful Blue Sky" and "DEAD 1."
He has also taught many young dancers at venues such as ImPulsTanz Vienna, the National Centre for Contemporary Dance in Angers (CNDC Angers), and the Venice Biennale.
