Business Overview

This exhibition introduces the flow of Chen's recent works. The focus is on the language of expression, which starts with poetry and develops into multiple media such as painting, lithography and installation. Many of his works are based on everyday scenes and childhood memories, and through the relationships between fictional characters and objects, he constructs a story with images that are filled with emotional ambiguity and a sense of time fragmentation. The title of the exhibition, “A Strain of Gray, ” symbolizes the state that exists between light and dark, certainty and uncertainty, and is also a response to the“ emotional margin ” and the “vague boundaries of existence ” that the artist has consistently explored. The characters on the screen often adopt a "waiting," "wandering," or "hesitating" posture, reflecting years of reflection on subjects such as relationships, language, perception, and memory.
