Business Overview

The Uemachi March incorporated the artist's point of view into the daily activities of the Uemachi Studio, and created a contact point between local residents and users while communicating the rich time and relationships between staff and users in the daily life of the facility to the neighborhood. More specifically, we held the Uemachi Guts Ondo, a dance performance parading around the neighborhood greenways, station plazas, parks, and cafes; Uemachi Machinaka Wrapping, in which we made posters of 1 of the users' paintings and displayed them at 12 locations, including stores in the vicinity of the Uemachi Studio that have a relationship with the users; and Uemachi March Talk, in which we looked back on the project and verbalized the relationship between the welfare facility and the surrounding community and the ideal state of society that the project aims for, and explored future prospects. Through these activities, Uemachi Kobo and its users have created many opportunities to positively meet and deepen relationships with many local residents.
