Talents Tokyo In order to strengthen the creation and dissemination of culture from Tokyo in the field of video, the Executive Committee has been holding a "Talents Tokyo" every fall since 2010 with the aim of cultivating "talents (=Talents, Talents)" who have the potential to become "next generation masters" Arts Council Tokyo. This is a human resource development program that invites young Asian filmmakers and producers to Tokyo and learn know-how to play an active role in the world through a seven-day workshop. In addition, this project will be implemented as the only Asian version of the overseas expansion of "Berlinale Talents", which is held as part of the Berlin International Film Festival, and has produced many filmmakers who are active around the world, with many graduates who have won awards at international film festivals such as Cannes and Venice.
The 16th "Talents Tokyo 2025" will be held under the theme of "Open the Heart, Its Strength" and will be held from November 24th (Monday, holiday) ~ November 30th (Sunday).
As a result of selection, 17 participants (talents) were selected. The main lecturers will be film director Maury Suriya, producer Justin Oh, world sales lecturer Emmanuel Pizarra and Tobias Pausinger from Berlinale Talents.
We also announce that we have selected projects that are expected to be active in the world in the future for the "Next Masters Support Program" for graduates of this program.
Ahead of "Talents Tokyo 2025", as a new pre-event this year, a special screening of the works of Talents alumni will be held on November 8 (Sat) and 9 (Sun) at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography Hall. The screenings are "Renoir" (2025) directed by Chie Hayakawa (TT2014 graduate) and "Cu Li Never Cries" (2024) directed by Pham Ngoc Lan (PHẠM Ngọc Lân, TT2017 graduate) and Nelicia LOW (TT2020 graduate) will also have a post-screening director's talk with the director. After the screening of "Renoir" on November 8, there will also be a dialogue talk between director Hayakawa and director Hirokazu Kore-eda as a special guest.
