metote-lab 's "Archive Project" explores how to preserve and utilize the lifestyle culture of deaf people who use sign language under the theme of "Preserving the Natural Living Culture Born from Sign Language".
As part of this effort, we hold "Home Video Appreciation Sessions." The videos, which record casual conversations with family and friends and moments of daily life, are filled with "living sign language" and "cultural hints" that cannot be seen in lectures or dramas.
In September 2025, we started a seminar program for those interested in the archive project.
Together with the students, we spent about six months learning about archiving, creating venues, planning and management, and working to preserve our lives and languages for the future.
To conclude the program, Presentation of home videos prepared by seminar participants of the Archive Project. We will look at the video together with the seminar students and participants and unravel the hidden background and stories through dialogue.
Why don't we share the precious moments that fade away in our daily lives?
