Start Box, a creative space using vacant Tokyo public housing and other stores.
Seeking artists

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture Arts Council Tokyo are developing a project called "START Box" that provides a place for young artists who have difficulty securing studios and other facilities to create and supports their continued activities.
We are looking for artists to use "START Box Sasahatahatsu" and "START Box Shirahige" from April. All facilities are available at reasonable rates.

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and up to about 40 years of age.
  • Residing or working in Tokyo or having graduated from a school in Tokyo

This is a space for creative activities in the field of visual arts such as art, photography and media arts, utilizing an empty store in Tokyo public housing along the waterway (Tokyo Metropolitan Road 431 Tsunohazu Izumicho Line).
