FY2026 Program Lineup

Supporting the creation of artistic and cultural activities

In addition to providing multifaceted and multilayered support to support the creative activities of artists and the bearers of art and culture, we will work to develop human resources involved in cultural projects.

Grants

In order to support creative activities that enhance the attractiveness of Tokyo's arts and culture and disseminate them to the world, the promotion of local culture and traditional performing arts, and artistic activities that address various social and urban issues, the grant program will be implemented according to each objective.

Project Support

The government will develop an environment for artists and others to continue their creative activities by providing comprehensive support through consultation services on arts and cultural activities, providing useful courses and information, and providing creative spaces using vacant Tokyo public housing and other stores.

Human Resource Development

Through courses, workshops, and overseas dispatches, we will develop diverse human resources who will lead the field in the future in various arts and culture fields, and provide opportunities to build relationships with the industry.

Creating Experiential Opportunities and Community Formation

We will provide children and young people with opportunities to experience the creation of arts and culture, create a cultural creative environment rooted in local communities, and work to spread and pass on arts and culture.

Business for Kids and Youth

We provide children and young people, who will be the leaders of the next generation, with opportunities to experience creative activities under the guidance of professionals, including artists and educational institutions, and foster their rich sensibilities.

regional cooperation

Through the implementation of programs in cooperation with municipalities, which are responsible for local communities, the government will promote opportunities to participate in arts and culture activities in close proximity, and will also improve the environment for the formation of communities that respond to local issues and the training of leaders.

Dissemination of Tokyo's Art and Culture

Aiming to promote arts and culture in Tokyo, we will hold festivals and other events and work to create new Tokyo culture.

Festival

Through a variety of festivals, including traditional culture and performing arts, street dance, and art, we will create opportunities for many people to experience art and culture, and disseminate the appeal of Tokyo's art and culture both in Japan and abroad.

Promotion of a symbiotic society through art and culture

We will promote arts and culture activities that create an environment that provides a foundation for people's emotional well-being and work to realize a symbiotic society.

Creative Well-being Tokyo

It is a project to think about well-being through art and culture and to develop various practices. In cooperation with metropolitan cultural institutions, cultural projects, NPOs and practitioners working on social issues, we will promote and disseminate initiatives necessary for the future of art and culture.

Implementation of pioneering initiatives

We will implement new initiatives in response to changes in the times and social conditions, transcending the boundaries of fields and facilities.

TOKYO Smart Culture Project

We will create "An environment where anyone can enjoy arts and culture anytime, anywhere" through the development of information and communications infrastructure at metropolitan cultural facilities, the utilization of collections by expanding databases, the planning and development of digital programs, and the creation of new viewing experiences utilizing cutting-edge technologies.

Civic Creative Base Tokyo [CCBT]

A base for activities to demonstrate people's creativity to society through art and digital technology. As an open laboratory for experimentation and creativity, we will develop a variety of programs and serve as a driving force to transform Tokyo into a better city through creativity and technology.

Pilot programs in response to social issues

We will create new businesses that respond to various social issues surrounding art and culture.

  • Cultural Utilization and Dissemination of Modern and Contemporary Residential Architecture

We will work to build networks with arts and culture organizations, cultural facilities and institutions in Japan and abroad, and promote international exchange through arts and culture.
