Profile

[Tanaka Shoichiro]
Pianist, composer and arranger. After graduating from the Music High School attached to Tokyo University of the Arts, he majored in piano and music composition at the Faculty of Music, then completed the master's degree in music composition at the same graduate school. As a pianist, he has been involved in a wide range of activities including solo, chamber music, vocal and choral accompaniment, and concert with orchestras. He has also performed Ligeti piano concertos. As a composer, he has created works in a wide range of genres, including solo music, chamber music, orchestral works, and electronic music, which have been performed in Japan and abroad. In recent years, he has been actively engaged in academic activities, including music analysis and writing papers on contemporary music. He is a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, advisor and special lecturer of Seiwa Musical Instruments.
