FY2022 2nd Term Grant for Artistic City

Business Overview

Description: We have developed an AR app on smartphones called “TOKYO DANCE AR in Koenji ” that allows users to enjoy unique dances while visiting various places in Koenji, such as izakaya, cafes, bookstores, and shrines. The app will be available for free for a limited time. Once you grab the app and load up the AR markers placed around it, you'll see a video of the dancers performing in real life. Inspired by the Koenji Baka Odori (1957), which was the origin of the Koenji Awa Odori dance and featured young people running through the streets in droll fashion, the performance by dancers was turned into an AR creation. Through dance AR, which connects the past with the present, the project aims to learn about the history of local culture and become more familiar with local culture through festive themes. AR performers: Aokid, Agatsuma Emiko, Omori Yoko, Okamoto Yu, Kurosu Ikumi, Nagayo Erina Special AR performers: Koenji Awa Odori Renkai, Tenguren Music: Takeda Naoyuki Real event guest musicians: Okuma Wataru, Fuchin, Hoshi Mae
