Business Overview
In June 2023, the 15 th Prague Quadrennial (PQ) was held in Prague. PQ is an international performing arts exhibition held every 4 years since 1967. At the time of its establishment, the exhibition mainly focused on performing arts, but now artists and students majoring in performing arts from all over the world enjoy their own performances in their exhibition spaces. The Japan Association of Stage Artists has been participating in PQ for more than half a century. This year, the 15th PQ was held, with booths in the ECR (Exhibition of Countries and Regions) and SE (Student Exhibition) sections. At ECR, we introduced stage art and artists in Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic live online, and exhibited art models and “touch models ” of three of the artists ’ works, allowing visitors to experience stage art through sight and touch. In SE, 90 university students who went to Prague together performed. PQ2023, which brought together performers from all over the world again after the common experience of the pandemic, gave us a strong sense that the world's performing arts have entered a new era.
