Business Overview

Using 100 cardboard boxes in the theater space, "STUMP PUMP TOKYO" is a dance work that depicts the fury of natural disasters and the strength of human beings who rise from them. It is choreographed, composed and directed by DANCE PJ REVO representative Tamura Koichiro. The performers are eight dancers: Ayane Nakagawa, Akira Yamada, Haruka Takeuchi, Mitsunori Hata, Yuka Hirata, Reisui Miwa, Kaede Yoshizawa and Koichiro Tamura. Takashi Aikawa for sound, Taiji Kutsumi for lighting, Susumu Kumaki for stage director, etc. After a recreation of "STUMP PUMP" which was first performed at DANCE BOX in Kobe in 2019, it will be performed again. In September 2019, a large typhoon hit the Japanese archipelago, mainly in the Kinki region. In Kurama, Kyoto, many fallen trees blocked the road, which became a matter of life and death. With a wish for Kurama's recovery, they pursue physical expression with the theme of fallen trees. A stage production whose message is the importance of deepening understanding of disasters, coexisting with nature, and living vigorously.

Profile

【DANCE PJ REVO】
The performance company produced by the choreographer Koichiro Tamura. EXPERIMENTAL HIP-HOP. Inspired by contemporary art,
seeks out all kinds of elements, such as the difference and similarity of materials between "object" and "body," the subordinate relationship and composition, and the possibility of dance born from them, and creates stage productions. The performance, which closely resembles Tamura's work, has the physical strength of confronting society, and gives thrills and empathy beyond dance. He is also active in a variety of ways, such as organizing lectures and workshops, while upholding free and revolutionary values.
