Business Overview
It depicts mass hysteria in a compound class (junior high school) in a fictitious remote area of Japan. This is a reprise of a work that was first performed at Atelier Shunpusha (Tokyo) in March 2014 to great acclaim. It was selected for the annual lineup of Komaba Agora Theater in fiscal 2018 and will be performed. Japan is now ahead of the rest of the world in the midst of accelerating progress towards a society with a very low birthrate, an aging population, and a declining population. Local governments are in danger of disappearing, local elementary and junior high schools are increasingly being consolidated, infrastructure is in decline, and communities are becoming more isolated. This film depicts how extremely closed and dwindling local communities affect the collective psychology of junior high school students living there. In addition, he is concerned that the current tendency to follow alternative facts rather than logical grounds is very similar to the initial symptoms of mass hysteria, and he tries to caricature the sickbed of modern society. Profile
Whey is the whey that is separated from milk when making yogurt supernatant or cheese.
This is thrown away in large quantities as industrial waste every day. But it's actually proven to be nutritious.
In this theater company, we aim to create works like whey, which is discarded when something is created.
