Profile

[Composer Group < Japanese Music 2010 >]
A group of composers from Western music who use Japanese instruments. Although it is no longer unusual for Western composers to create works using Japanese instruments, there is still not enough connection between composers and Japanese musicians. The composer group Horaku 2010 has formed a network of composers to appeal to performers of traditional Japanese music and to respond to requests for composition and arrangement as a professional composer group. Also, once a year, they hold a "catalog of sound" concert focusing on new works.
