Business Overview
It is an attempt at a comprehensive expression activity through contemporary music, dance, drama, art, and Nohgaku. This is the first event to create and transmit tradition, avant-garde, and universal expression from the Noh stage. While paying homage to the "experimental studio" that greatly influenced postwar expression, he aims to create a new work of today. The Noh play "Sumidagawa" will be accompanied by three programs that will resonate the world of E. SATY on the Noh stage, including songs representative of postwar modern music, performances and dances of newly commissioned works, and a once-in-a-lifetime performance by leading figures from various fields to the newest performers. Profile
[Shimizu Kanji]
Noh performer (Tessenkai). Born in 1953. Graduated from Waseda University. He became a member of Tessenkai under the guidance of Junshi YAMAMOTO while he was a student. He studied under the late Hisao KANZE, the late Tetsunojo KANZE, the eighth, Tetsunojo KANZE, the ninth and others. While performing classical pieces mainly at Tessenkai, he also directed and played the main role in new Noh plays written by the late Tomio TADA, such as "Okinawa Zangetsuki" and "Nagasaki no Seibo." He has also appeared in contemporary dramas and dances, and collaborated with other traditional performing arts, such as Ryukyu kumi-odori, Chinese kungeki, and Bunya puppets. He is a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts.
