Business Overview
Acteon, an opera composed by Marcantoine Charpentier, and Rivietta and Tlacollo, an opera composed by Giovanni Battista Pergorage, are performed in the style of Noh for Acteon and Kyogen for Rivietta and Tlacollo. The stage set is similar in style to a Noh theater. The performers are Nohgakushi (Noh actor) and vocalists, and the performance is performed jointly by Noh hayashikata (Noh musicians) and players of Western instruments. Creation of a new and compelling performance form that essentially fuses the traditional performing arts of Japan, Noh and Kyogen, with the traditional performing arts of Europe, Opera. In September 2012, the "Opera @ Nohgakudo" European Performance Executive Committee was organized by people related to the previous performance and members from various fields who agree with the purpose of the plan, with Center Village Co., Ltd., which has 22 years of experience planning and producing concerts mainly in Tokyo, as the core organization, in order to perform "Opera @ Nohgakudo" in Europe on tour. "Opera @ Nohgakudo" aims to transmit a new form of opera performance from Japan to the world through European performances, and to contribute to cultural exchange between East and West and to friendship between Japan and Europe.
