Business Overview
The jiutamai, which expresses the "iki" and aesthetic sense of Edo culture on a foundation of tradition, will be performed in 5 venues in 3 cities in Lithuania (approx. 1,200 spectators) to promote its true value internationally. After each performance, a workshop was held with all parties involved in jiuta dance (Mai-kata, jikata, tokoyama (alcove) and hairdressing, costume and dressing, kaoshi (head dresser)) to help them understand the overall cultural climate that nurtured the art.

[General Incorporated Association Jiuta Dance Promotion Association]
The purpose of this association is to cultivate rich humanity and contribute to the promotion of art by promoting and developing jiuta dance. Their activities to date include hands-on classes at elementary schools and nursery schools, dance exchange events in support of the Tohoku region, workshops on jiuta dance and simple Japanese gestures, and, beginning with a performance overseas in Lithuania in 2012, regular overseas performances supported by grants from the Japan Foundation, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Minato Ward, EU Japan Fest, and many other organizations.
