Business Overview

A performance featuring 16 Rosary Sonatas by 17 century Austrian composer Heinrich Bieber was held. An excerpt performance incorporating lighting staging was performed at Shin-Okubo Lutheran Tokyo Church (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on January 15, 2026, and a performance was performed at Omori Fukuko Church (Ota Ward, Tokyo) on January 17. This work is a violin work that uses different special tuning for each piece, and combines a religious narrative and description with rich emotional expression. It was a performance that reconsidered the conventional concert format and space, presented the religious narrative and musical structure of the work in three dimensions by incorporating stage direction including lighting design, and aimed to deliver it to modern audiences as a new artistic experience beyond the framework of ancient music. Sonoko ASABUKI, Setsuko SUGITA, Minori DEGUCHI (baroque violin), Pablo DEVIGO (organ/chambalo), Takatsugu KAKEDA (violone), and Asako UEDA (lute/production/direction) appear in the film.

Profile

[Minoriten Duo Executive Committee]
An old music duo by violinist Minori Deguchi and lute player Asako Ueda. She has performed in Tokyo, Takamatsu, Lyon and Utrecht. It is the smallest ensemble of lute and violin, but it is characterized by music creation that combines precision, mobility and freedom of improvisation. They are not bound by traditional performances on stage, but reconsider the way stage space should be, and focus on creating a performance experience that creates a deeper relationship with the audience.
