Tokyo Arts and Culture Promotion Subsidy

In order to support diverse creative activities that contribute to the enhancement of Tokyo's appeal as a city and the people who support them, part of the cost of activities will be subsidized to artists and art organizations based in Tokyo.

Category I [single year grant] Creative Artistic Activities supports creative activities such as performances, exhibitions, and art projects in Tokyo, and international artistic exchange activities in Tokyo and overseas.
Category II [Long-Term Support] Creative Artistic Activities supports creative activities by supporting not only presentation activities but also the process of creating works such as research and trial performances, and supports artistic organizations for two or three years to step up their activities.
Category III [long-term grant] [single-year grant] Activities to Improve the Creative Environment provides support for up to three years for activities that address issues related to the artistic creative environment and provide broad coverage of the entire field.
Category IV [Long-Term Support] Overseas Film Festival Participation provides two- or three-year assistance to improve film post-production standards and participate in overseas film festivals.

Category I [single year grant] Creative artistic activities

The following projects organized by artistic organizations with headquarters or head offices in Tokyo or individuals residing in Tokyo
• Creative artistic activities in Tokyo (held in Tokyo)
Performances, concerts, exhibitions, screenings, art projects and other creative activities in Tokyo
* Projects that combine various artistic activities (festivals, etc.) are also eligible.
・ International art exchange activities (The site is Tokyo, overseas, or Tokyo and overseas.)
Overseas performances/exhibitions, international collaborations, international festivals, invited performances/exhibitions, etc.
* In the case of "international art exchange activities" conducted only in Tokyo, foreign art organizations and artists must play a major role in the project.

The following projects organized by art organizations with headquarters or head offices in Tokyo
・ A comprehensive project consisting of performances, concerts, exhibitions, screenings, etc. and various related activities to achieve long-term goals
・ A project with a desire to step up to become an international art organization representing Tokyo and gradually approach its goals through creative activities
・ A project that plans, organizes, and produces programs based on a unique artistic perspective, and conducts public and presentation activities in a way that has ripple and transmission power.

Category III [Long-term grant] [Single-year grant] Activities to improve the creative environment

A project that contributes to the improvement of the creative environment for artists and other creators by grasping the current state and issues of the artistic creative environment in Tokyo and making practical efforts to solve those issues, and that involves some kind of public disclosure or open recruitment, sponsored by artistic organizations and other organizations with headquarters or head offices in Tokyo.

Category IV [Long-Term Support] Participation in International Film Festivals

*As of FY 2025, all consumption tax and local consumption tax will not be eligible for subsidies. Please be careful.
