Start Box We will open the atelier of a young artist working at Sasahata Hatsu.
This is a rare opportunity to interact with artists who create paintings, photographs, media art and installation works.
Admission is free and reservations are not required, so please feel free to drop by.

Sasazuka

Takatsugu SAITO (also known as Takatsugu SAITO)

Born in Tokyo in 1998. He majored in painting at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. Using political philosophy and childhood memories as clues, he created fictional found objects and installations. Through a variety of media, including paintings, three-dimensional images, and graphics, the exhibition encourages us to reconsider the different worlds, the means to reach them, and our behavior and relationships with them. Recent major exhibitions include the solo exhibition (Art Studio KYOK, 2023) and the group exhibition (LURF gallery, 2025) 1998.

Kokubunran (Dutch country)

He works as a freelance photographer based in Tokyo and Hokkaido. Works on themes of geographical and historical boundaries. His major exhibitions include Looking for Herring (Tenjinyama Art Studio Sapporo), In the Pool (KG+ Gojozaka Kyoyaki Noborigama, Kyoto), Behind the Terrain (Traveling exhibitions in Yogyakarta, Hanoi and Tokyo) and Yukisnowschneesneg (Atelier Allen, Munich). Exhibited at art fairs overseas.
★ Portrait shooting experience is possible.
★ Works based on research in Sasazuka. We are looking for people who can show us their memories.

Yuri Yamada (Yama Yuri)

He was born in Tokyo. He was enrolled in a doctoral program at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Based on fieldwork and interviews in Japan and overseas, he created installation works on the theme of changes in society as perceived by individuals. Major exhibits include (German-Japanese Center Berlin, 2024) and "Mate the difference vol.4 COMPASS"(Academy of Fine Arts, Münster, 2024).

Hatagaya

Minori MANABE

He was born in Tokyo. Focusing on linguistic expression, human perspective and physicality, he aims to create an experience that anyone can enjoy through the body and rethink things. He has held a solo exhibition "multi-lingua-body" (Arts Council Tokyo [Start-up Grant]) and received awards including the SICF20 Wacoal Study Hall Kyoto Encouragement Prize. Graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo, and the Advanced Information Expression Course, Interdisciplinary Informatics, Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Informatics, University of Tokyo.

Seiichi KOBAYASHI

Born in Niigata Prefecture in 1994. Graduated from the University of South Australia. Using silk screens, he creates paintings that show the process, the use of tools and materials. Participated in solo exhibition (FEFTspace, Adelaide, 2021), group exhibition "Open your eyes, close, close, close"(Elevated Site-A Gallery, 2023), etc. In 2023, he stayed and produced in Cheongju, Korea.

Mikiko Kamada

Graduated from Chiba University Graduate School of Horticultural Science with a doctorate in agriculture. While reconstructing the "relationship between plants and humans" and researching the importance of soil and plants in cities, he is working to build a nature-positive urban environment. In 2020, he held his first solo exhibition (Gallery Art for Thought, Ginza). An attempt to visualize invisible life was realized. The collaborative work "Mugen Metamorphose" with producer Masaharu Kawamori is being exhibited at the Osaka Expo Signature Pavilion "Adventure of Life."
