Business Overview

Under the title "Sacred Sites of the Shakuhachi," he expressed the importance of visiting sacred sites and deepening understanding of the music. In the first part, three pieces, "Koden Sozo," "Yamakoshi," and "Mitani no Kyoku" (Meian Shinpo-ryu), were performed, and photographs of Takeshi Takeda were projected along with the pieces. "Koden Sumo" was set in Japanese mythology, and "Yamakoshi" was set in a sacred place (India) associated with the Buddha, creating a sense of tension by contrasting with the music. In "Mitani no Kyoku," he projected his newly shot works in Kyoto. It is a monochrome work in which the temple and nature intermingle, and combined with the world view of the song, it created a unique static space. In the second part, they played "Sagariha Roku no te," a one-section piece (played with a reconstructed instrument), and "Osho Kun," played with an ancient shakuhachi bamboo flute (played with a reconstructed instrument). The first song of the third part is "Takiotsu" (fall), interspersed with a dialogue between Kohama and Takeda. A newly shot work of "Izu Asahidaki," a waterfall associated with Izu, is projected. At the end of the concert, he premiered "Sacred Places Speak to" (composed by Akito Kobama), which was composed based on his experiences visiting sacred places.
