Business Overview
Kimura, who has previously worked with the words of radical yet marginal authors such as Beckett, Kin Tokikō, and Tsukasa Tsuji, has now taken on Shakespeare for the first time, presenting a new drama with a feminist perspective that weaves together quotes and homages from a variety of texts, centering on a new translation of the original Hamlet and Euripides' Greek tragedy The Trojan Women. A diverse cast was selected from 126 applicants through an open call, and Sochi, an Indian director and actor who had a strong interest in the work, joined at short notice, conducting international joint research in parallel with the performance. Profile
[&Co.]
Founded in 2022 by Yusuke Kimura, who has worked across disciplines, primarily in the performing arts, as a space for diverse talents that cannot be summed up under a specific individual name. Taking over the planning and production of Kimura's long-term project, "The Manners of Insults," the group conducts research and creations that counter the abusive language and aggression that circulates around the world. By delving deeply into historical contexts, contemporary society, and the individuals living within it, the group presents sharp criticism and bold alternatives, raising questions about existing values, ethics, and society.
