Business Overview
It will be held over three nights (two of which will be all-night) as a traveling art night event with the Kabukicho area as the stage. The title 'BENTEN' comes from Kabukicho Park/Kabukicho Benzaiten, which has been protected as a sacred place in Kabukicho. This year was the first meeting, and it will be held once a year in the future. Shinjuku's Kabukicho district has been full of diversity since the post-war reconstruction period, and has maintained its appeal as a melting pot of popular culture where avant-garde artists are active. “BENTEN 2024 ” attempted to connect the art spaces and public areas of Kabukicho that have appeared in recent years, and to visualize the fact that the neighborhood of Kabukicho has already been established as a unique art district. The artistic director is Chim↑Pom from Smappa!, who has been active in Kabukicho for many years. Group. The program was selected based on the concepts of "Art is in the pARTy," "Peace," and "Art/Performing Arts," which are the essence of Kabukicho's expression context. A wide variety of programs will be held, including a solo exhibition and performance by Chen Tienjuo, who is reputed to be the flag bearer of the Chinese millennial generation, clubs by GLOBAL HEARTS, music events such as DOMMUNE and folk, plays and performances by Shinoda Chiaki and Arakawa Nash, and a yokocho project "A-yoko" by artists such as Aida Makoto. A total of 65 artists participated.

【 Kabukicho Art Night Executive Committee 】
It was established in 2024 by the members of "Kabukicho Art Center Planning Committee (from 2023)" for the purpose of holding an all night art event in Kabukicho. The members were Ryuta UJO (Chim↑Pom from Smappa! Group), Takashi HOYAMA (Auditor of the Kabukicho Shopping District Promotion Association, Managing Director of Daihoshi Shoji Co., Ltd.), Maki TEZUKA (Director of Kabukicho Shopping District Promotion Association, Smappa! Chairperson of the Group), Yuko YAMAMOTO (ANOMALY), and Kuniaki TAJIMA (Daisei Shoji Co., Ltd.).
