Business Overview

- Toward the world of Japanese dance spun by words - Japanese dance performed to traditional music such as shamisen music and koto music. These songs have lyrics (words), which have a great influence on the expression of dance. In this performance, classical works (koto music) are performed in the first part, and creative works (classical and contemporary music) by Takaina are performed in the second part. A look at the tradition and present of Japanese dance, nurtured by beautiful words.

Profile

Takiina Hanayagi
Japanese dancer and choreographer
Born in Tokyo in 1998. From the age of six, he studied Japanese dance under Kito HANAYAGI.
He mainly performs creative Japanese dance works composed and choreographed by himself. Based on classical expressions of Japanese dance, he choreographed various kinds of music. In 2008, he performed Tamasaburo BANDO's Special Dance Performance "Kagamijishi" (Lion Mirror), playing the role of Kocho no seiyaku (the spirit of a butterfly). In 2020, he graduated from the Department of Japanese Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts at the top of his class. While still a student, he won the Ataka Prize, the Doseikai Rookie Prize, and the Acanthus Music Prize. At the Tokyo University of the Arts Art Fest 2021, his work "Hikari - Creative Japanese Dance" won the Excellence Award. He wrote, directed and starred in "Sakuyahime Zoku, Taketori Monogatari," the winner of the 15 'Gakudo planning public contests' in the 2021 academic year. He is a member of Soten, a group of Japanese music performers and dancers. 2022 Tokyo Midtown Hibiya (NEXT Artist). 2022 Performed in 'Tokyo Caravan the 2nd' directed by Hideki NODA. 2023: Completed a master's degree at the Graduate School of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Received the Acanthus Graduate School Music Award. Since the 2024 academic year, he has been a part-time lecturer at Nihon University, College of Art, Film Department.
