Profile

[General Incorporated Association Nakafura]
Manages the activities of Shigeki Nakano + Frankens. In his creative works, he mainly took up so-called 'translation plays' in which the period, culture and customs are very different from those of modern Japan, and understood and embodied them with 'our current values and bodies.'. Translation that is not bound by verbatim translation, free composition that adheres to only the plot, interpretation of the work as our own story that is not bound by conventional images and manners, and such methods and expressions are called "maretranslation." In 2014, he began to perform modern Japanese plays and to try to perform original plays. Since 2021, he has been exploring the coexistence of life and creation.
