Business Overview

The Aoyama Experimental Studio performs music related to the experimental studio and new works, as well as dances, performances, experimental noh, and kumi-odori. At the invitation of Noh actor Kanji Shimizu, we have been striving to create new creations on the Noh stage that transcend the boundaries of traditional and modern genres. In the seventh episode, Yuji TAKAHASHI and Aki TAKAHASHI, who had long been friends with the late composer Satoshi HITOTSUYANAGI, pay their respects to him. Starting with the world premiere of Yuji Takahashi's memorial song "Yumeato Isshi," piano music, violin, music with Sho, master J Cage's masterpiece, graphic score "Approach" is performed for the first time in half a century. Other works include solo music by up-and-coming composer Enka Mori and talks by Yuji Takahashi. It presents a multilayered program befitting Hitotsuyanagi, a lifelong avant-garde who worked across time and space. He also performed the world premiere of a Noh play composed and composed by Barbara Monk-Feldman, a first-time Japanese composer. Performers: Yuji Takahashi (piano), Aki Takahashi (piano), Kanji Shimizu (Recitation, Noh dance), Fumiko Kai (violin), Takashi Ishikawa (sho), Mutsumi Hatano (mezzo-soprano), Takao Nishimura (noh dance)
