Business Overview

Koto performers Reiko Aoki and Nanako Torigoe held a duo recital at Tsurumei Hall (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) on July 20, 2024. After 12 years together as performers, the duo sought to hone their individuality, discover the value of their music, and explore new possibilities for their future endeavors. Their first recital featured pieces by Bondai Fujii ("Two Individualities"), Kengyo Mitsuzaki ("Chiyo no Uguisu"), and Katsuhiko Yoshizaki ("Wind God & Thunder God"). Solo pieces included Yutaka Makino ("Theme and Transformation for Seventeen-String Solo: Wind") and Masakuni Kineya ("Kira").

Profile

[Reiko AOKI]
Since childhood, she studied koto and sangen under her grandmothers, Michio MIYAGI's direct pupils Fumiko SATO and Toyono FUJIKI. He graduated from the Ikuta-ryu Sokyoku Major, Department of Japanese Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. He received the Joei Prize while he was a student and the Acanthus Music Prize and the Doseikai Prize when he graduated. He completed a master's course in the Graduate School of Music and received the Acanthus Music Prize. He appeared in many programs such as NHK Taiga Drama and provided music. He was a grand master of Miyagi-sha Shrine. He presides over the Wagakki Ensemble Masahide.
