Business Overview
Orchestra Nipponica No. 44 "Music on the European Frontier and Beyond" It was in the 1950s after World War II that the influence of Bartok became evident in Japanese orchestral works. Among them, Akira Ogura (1916~1990) and Yoshio Mamiya (1929~) were decisively influenced. Ogura found the relationship between the pitch and rhythm of Bartok and the characteristics of folk music and language, and Mamiya tried to find the socialist significance in the relationship between Bartok and folk music. The project examines how the two composers were influenced by Bartok's music and compositional attitudes from the 1950s to the 1970s, and how they broke away from Bartok to reach their unique musical appeal. Bartok: Dance Suite (1932) Akira Ogura: Violin Concerto (1971) (*) Akira Ogura: Dance Suite for Orchestra (1953) Yoshio Mamiya: 2 Tableaux for Orchestra '65 (1965) Conductor: Ichiro Nohira Violin: Kazuhiro Takagi (*)
