Business Overview

We performed a play about the town of the residents and the administration of the redeveloped district. It was modeled on real neighborhoods in Tokyo like Shibuya and Shinjuku, as well as a neighborhood in New York called Harlem. While reflecting the city of Tokyo, it made it possible to present a theme with a high degree of universality that is not limited to Japan. The cast and staff were mainly university students attending Tama Art University. The challenge was to perform only by students centered around the theater company Nemono Kai, which is the presiding director. There are many performers who have decided to perform outside after the performance. On the other hand, there is a closed-off tendency that only theater-related people come to see plays today. In an attempt to break this down, he invited a professor of cultural anthropology to the after-talk. Profile

[Theater Company Nemono Kai]
A theater group formed by five members of the Tama Art University Theater Dance Design Department Theater Dance Course. Based on works that are surreal but based on comedy, he works with the motto of using simple props and the actor's own physicality to show infinite colors.
Nemo, the name of the troupe, means "nobody" in Latin. A group of people who are on the fence about the framework and a little out of touch with society. Also, by using the word "Nemo" as a half-width character, a visual image of "company/society" is added. For us, theater is "society."
