Business Overview

The Tokyo Architecture Festival is a festival that provides a wide range of people with an opportunity to experience Tokyo's diverse architecture and to enjoy it by coming into contact with the various thoughts of the people who make it, those who use it, and those who preserve it. It is important to build this festival with many people involved in the community, including donors, supporting companies, building owners and guides, general recruitment staff, local residents, and tour participants. The purpose of this project is to promote the spread and expansion of architectural culture by making the act of enjoying "architecture" accessible to the public, and to rediscover the charms of Tokyo. In 2024, the first event, we held events such as a special public exhibition and special exhibition, guided tours of the architecture with explanations by experts and architects, lectures, and live broadcasting.

[Tokyo Architectural Festival Executive Committee]
The Tokyo Architectural Festival Executive Committee is an industry-academia-government collaborative organization established by members from various perspectives, including architecture experts, companies, government, and the media, who agree with the significance of architectural events in Tokyo. Shunsuke Kurakata (Architectural historian and professor at Osaka Metropolitan University), chairperson of the executive committee, has been actively engaged in activities to open up specialized knowledge of architecture to the public through his books, architecture festivals around Japan, and many other projects he has been involved in since its inception. The other committee members are also engaged in activities aimed at fostering civic pride through building experiences for the general public.
