Business Overview

The first Kanze-ryu Taiko Shokubunkai commemorating the posthumous gift of the 17th head of the Kanze-ryu Taiko drum, the Kanze-moto Hakushi, is a Nohgaku performance organized by the Kanze-ryu Taiko Shokubunkai. This performance is held on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Motohaku KANZE's death to confer the title of 17 soke (the head family) to Motohaku after his death, and at the same time, the eldest daughter of Motohaku, Yuko KANZE, gives a performance at Omagari Dojo-ji Temple to publicize the succession of the school. Performers included Kiyokazu KANZE, Tetsunojo KANZE, Soemon KONPARU, Mansai NOMURA and many other one-key and ren-key instruments performed by Kanze-ryu taiko shokuban gathered from all over the country, showing the characteristics of taiko kata.

our association was established in 1965 by Motonobu KANZE, the 16 head of the Kanze-ryu school of Nohgaku, with the aim of preserving the tradition of Kanze-ryu Taiko for future generations. They are active in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hokuriku, Nagoya, and Kyushu to pass down the Kanze-ryu drum and to spread Nohgaku.
