Business Overview
The 1960s Broadway musical I Do! I Do! was performed in Japan in 2023. When this play was first performed, the theme was' celebrating marriage. '. Today, however, marriage and living together are diversified. This time, the theme of the performance was "imagine others next to you," and in order to "meet others," an open audition was held for the first time in Kamigyo. After the performance, an artist talk was held with student musical club members Yukino Fukumoto and Osamu Ohashi, as well as director and translator Yasuhiko Katsuta, who has a close relationship with the songwriter and composer of this work. Profile
Kamigyo is a theatrical company founded in 2021.
He works with the concept of chewing plays from all ages to nourish our future like a paper fish.
Past performances include The Doll's House, Ashes to Ashes, Salome, Tyrolean Autumn, The Human Voice and Marie the Fur.
In 2022, he passed the first stage screening at the Engei Contest, one of the largest stage director competitions in Japan (the final screening was cancelled).
As of 2024, he passed the 1st stage of the Senkawa Theater Competition 2024.
