Business Overview
This project is a recreation of Yuhiko Sakata's choreographic work "Confectionery" announced in 2016, and it has become a dance work with enthusiasm for creating scenes that Sakata himself wants. The original work won the "SDP Award" at the SAI International Dance Festival in 2017 and was presented at "Seoul Dance Play" (Performing Place, Yegee Art Theater, Seoul) in May of the following year, and was reconstructed into a one-hour work with the addition of sound and lighting to liven up the new dance scene. The content of the work was created based on a microscopic worldview inspired by plants, and was created by feedback on the feelings Sakata felt about his father's death. The performers include Rino Furumoda, Rieko Hirata, and three other new dancers who continue to appear in Sakata's works, as well as experienced veterans such as Takayuki Fujimoto for lighting and skunk for music. The costume Noruu put together the visuals of the work, and the other staff members also contributed greatly to the creation of the work. Sakata himself worked diligently on choreography and direction, and tried to improve his work while objectively grasping the work.
