Reiwa 5(2023) Creation Grant Category III Projects that contribute to the improvement of the artistic creative environment [Long-term grant] [Single-year grant 1st term]

Business Overview
This project aimed to overcome the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past three years: (1) a decrease in the number of young dancers, (2) a decline in the rate of audience attraction for performing arts, and (3) a slump in international exchange. With the hope of encouraging young dancers to actively participate, 10 groups will be invited to perform at the U25 Theater 21 Festival and the U35 Theater 21 Festival on the condition of awarding a session prize and being invited to the Korea International Festival. Five groups were selected for each event. Audience surveys and Zoom feedback sessions are held for each performance. Two dance researchers were involved as supervisors to analyze questionnaires and works and discuss with dancers. 5 groups selected from 10 groups were asked to write new works based on the analysis results. Six groups, including one invited dancer from NDA Korea, performed "Dance Flower". The Director of the Planning Office selected the Session Award, and gave the Best Picture Award to Ayae Onishi and the Future Award to Takuto Sakurai. NDA producer Yoo Ho-sik came to Japan from South Korea. Elected "Takashita Nankai" and appeared on NDA in Korea in summer 2024. Session House Planning Office staff from Japan also visited Korea to select the next Korean works. Promote exchanges.
