Business Overview
Tokyo Soteria, an NPO that supports people with mental disorders in Edogawa Ward, organized an exhibition of paintings, a talk session and a film festival on World Mental Health Day by inviting directors, performers, and collaborators from the Mental Health Bureau of the Regional Health Union of Bologna, Emilia Romagna, and mental health workers in Myanmar. In September 2019, Tokyo Soteria invited Japanese applicants to participate and held auditions in various parts of the country in order to create a play "Mallah/Sad" by people with disabilities. He began domestic training in May 2020, and in fiscal 2021, he edited footage shot in various locations for each scene to create a single work. This year, in addition to showing these films as part of the festival, we also held a film festival in which we screened films by people with mental disabilities from Myanmar and Italy. At the same time, an exhibition of paintings and workshops were held as an expression activity for the disabled. We planned to hold a talk session to deepen understanding of the background, such as the environment for carrying out expression activities and the situation in the mental health field, instead of just broadcasting expressions unilaterally.
