Business Overview
It is set in a small French restaurant during the Christmas season. "My French" is an entertainment show for adults that tells short stories about the lives of the people who visit and elegantly arranges the scenes with live jazz music like movie music. Takahashi, the popular character in the play A la Carte, which ran for 26 years from 1989 at the Aoyama Amphitheater (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; closed in 2015) became the owner, and in 2018 the venue was moved to a restaurant where audiences can also enjoy meals. In 2023, the 35 year anniversary of "A La Carte," the stage was transformed into a theater-style performance that combined the fun of a play with music, food, and theater. In addition to Junko TAKAIZUMI, Koyo YAMAMOTO, Yuichiro NAKAYAMA, Yasuoki UNEZAWA, Shota SHUNPUTEI, Eisuke SHINOI, Kikunojo ONOE, the fourth iemoto of the Onoe-ryu school, and Diamond Yukai make guest appearances every day. Yu Kikai Office Co., Ltd. is a theater and music planning and production office presided over by Junko Takaizumi. Junko TAKAIZUMI belonged to 'Waseda Engeki Kenkyukai' (Waseda Theatre Study Group) while she was a student at Waseda University, and formed a theatrical company, 'Yu ◉ Machine/Full Automatic Theatre' in 1983 with Akira SHIRAI, Koichi YOSHIZAWA and others. He played the lead role in the stage and wrote the script, and has attracted attention as a player who plays characters from boys to old people in a flexible manner. After the company broke up in 2003, London director Simon. His production of "Elephant Vanishes," a short story by Simon McBurney and Haruki Murakami, was highly acclaimed after performances in London, Paris and New York. He commissioned stage art from illustrator Uno Akira to work on a trilogy of Fables for Adults, which deal with the themes of time, memory, and family. In addition, many of his plays incorporate jazz, and he regularly holds jazz concerts and actively approaches the music world.
