Business Overview
In 1957, Awa Odori was started as a revitalization project by the shopping district in front of Koenji Station, and gradually expanded, and now, 63 years later, it has become an event of the entire Koenji area. The purpose of this event is to connect "people to people" and "people to communities," to promote the prosperity of local communities, and to contribute to cultural exchange with other countries and regions in Japan. ● The 63 th Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori Dance Awa Odori performances were held from 17:00 to 20:00 on Sunday, Saturday, August 24 and 25th at a total of 8 performance venues around JR Koenji Station. Participants: 164 groups, 11,000 in total Audience: 450,000 on 24th (Sat), 550,000 on 25th (Sun) Stage Performance "Odore Koenji Sesion 2019" Stage Performance "Natsunoza Koenji Awa Odori 2019" Both performances will be held in 2 parts on Saturday, August 24 and 25th (Sun). It is popular for its composition that makes full use of lighting and sound, which is different from the performance on the street. Staff: Organizing committee (Directors of local shopping associations, community associations, etc.), co-sponsoring organization (Suginami Ward), volunteer (It is mainly for university students and adults. Cooperation with neighboring elementary and junior high schools.)

NPO Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori Promotion Association
Awa Odori, which has developed as a traditional performing art of Tokushima, is held every summer as a local event called "Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori" in Koenji, Suginami Ward, aiming to pass on the history of Awa Odori to the future and take root as a local culture. In addition, in order to attract people who love Awa Odori, they hold performances and experience programs throughout the year, and perform in various regions in Japan and overseas to promote its spread. They are also working to contribute to "human development" and "town development" through Awa Odori.
