Business Overview

The sixth in a series of solo exhibitions by Soharu Kawashima. Hitomi NAKAMURA, a Hichiriki instrument player and the first Japanese instrument player, was invited as a guest, and it was the largest concert in the series with 12 Japanese and Western instrument players in total. The first half traces the history of the Hichiriki instrument: the ancient instrument Auros, the Shosoin restored instrument OHichiriki, and the modern Hichiriki instrument. The second half shows the new possibilities of the Hichiriki instrument in the modern age using different methods, such as new solo works accompanied by images and reperformances of chamber orchestra works by all members. It was formed in 2017 to hold a solo exhibition of the works of the composer, Kawashima Soharu. They have hosted performances by six groups of guests: Hideo Kikuchi (clarinet), Yoshiko Kanda (percussion instrument), Gemiza Trio (Baritone, Trumpet, Piano), Michimoto Kinowaki (flute), ROSCO(Piano, Violin) and Hitomi Nakamura (Hichiriki instrument).
