Profile
[Tachikawa Citizens Opera Association]
The Tachikawa Citizens Opera Association aims to create opera as a comprehensive performing art through collaboration between industry, government, citizens and academia, and to revitalize the region through music. In addition to opera performances, the association also holds pre-events such as lectures and mini-concerts and dress rehearsal tours for young people, promoting opera in a way that is closely tied to the local community and targets a wide range of generations. Members of the association include the Tachikawa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kunitachi College of Music, and the Tachikawa City Regional Cultural Promotion Foundation (public interest incorporated foundation), with two-thirds being volunteer citizens, and the association is run through collaboration between industry, government, citizens and academia.
