Business Overview
【 Purpose 】 In advance of the Shimokitazawa International Puppetry Festival (Organizer: NPO Deku Art Forum/Co-organizer: The Suzunari, Shimokitazawa Alley Hall), which will be held biennially from February 2024, this is a preview event with free admission and no reservation required, especially for young audiences. Puppetry/object theater is gaining renewed attention, especially in Europe and North America, and many creative, edgy, low-budget small works with social and political messages have emerged. It presents the world's forefront of modern puppet theater and renews the image of puppet theater in Japan. [Program] Lectures "What did object theater bring to puppetry?": Jakub Vasicek (Artistic Director/Director, Drak Theater) & Jakub Hora (SIPF planning) & Haruko Yamaguchi (SIPF planning)/Puppet Slam in Japan ed. 0: Puppeteers in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Nagoya, Kyoto and Chicago/Puppet Theater Accompanying Music Live: Daniel Čámský (Minoru Theater, Czech Republic) etc.

[NPO Deku Art Forum]
Deku Art Forum is a non-profit organization established to promote the development of puppetry arts in Japan and the world by promoting international exchange of performing arts centered on puppetry. The purpose of this program is to provide creative support for puppetry in the fields of both research and practice, such as providing information on overseas puppetry, providing linguistic and production support for domestic puppetry troupes to participate in overseas performances and festivals, planning and producing overseas puppetry performances and festivals in Japan, and holding international conferences and lectures on puppetry art.
