Business Overview

At the Tokyo University of the Arts' "Art Festival" and "Graduation Exhibition," a program was implemented to create a place for young people who have not adjusted to school or society to meet (1) art, (2) students of the University of the Arts as artists, and (3) adults who are not parents or teachers. The participants were recruited through the NPO with which they cooperated. The program at the "Art Festival" Young people and accompanying adults talked in groups as they toured the exhibits on campus, and listened to the art students and asked questions about their own works. During the tour, students of the University of the Arts explained the theme and the production process. I also enjoyed the bustle of the art market in Ueno Park where students of the University of the Arts set up stalls. Program at Graduation Exhibition Young people and accompanying adults talked as a group while viewing the exhibition of their graduation work. They also asked students of the University of the Arts to explain their works and answer questions. After that, they showed each other photos of their favorite works and shared their impressions.

Profile

[Flatart]
This group was established in July 2021 by volunteers who were active in the "Tobira Project," a joint project of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the Tokyo University of the Arts, in order to continue their activities after the completion of the project term.
As a creator of encounters between "people" and "people and art" with art at the center, he works to connect art with young people in their late teens and early 20s who are not accustomed to school and society, and to prevent isolation of young people.
