Business Overview

Independent curator Zhang Yong Yu, along with young religious folklorist Guo Li-dong and artists Iijima Momoyo, Kikuchi Tomoko, and Yamagishi Genbu, conducted a six-month reading group on the theme of "mutual suffering." Based on this, each participant created works such as images, installations, and poems, and Zhang acted as curator for the exhibition "There is pain in that, too." The exhibition also featured works by visual folklorist Dipesh Kharel (& Asami Saito), performance artists Tung Jit Yang & Bryan Chang, designer Xiaoyu Yang, and designer and illustrator Dong Tianluo. During the exhibition, artist talks and tours were planned, and three researchers, Ayako Kimishima (Religious scholar and artist), Soko Sato (religious anthropologist), and Yutaka Suga (folklorist), were invited to a round-table discussion on the theme of "imagination facing 'pain.'."
