Business Overview
An exhibition on the theme of physical distribution, labor and the opposite shore, "Bampool on the cliff in front" was held in Tokyo Bay. To date, Fujikura has focused on the infrastructure developed across urban and suburban areas and the depth of scenery attached to it, and has produced works mainly using the method of 3DCG animation. As an extension of this theme, Fujikura launched a research project on the landscape of Tokyo's bay area, which he has long been interested in. Aokid, who works as an artist and dancer, Ohmura Takahiro, who specializes in architectural design and design, Kondo Ryosuke, who specializes in landscape history, and Saito Naoki, who specializes in urban theory, participated in the research and attempted to capture the harbor landscape from multiple perspectives by accumulating fieldwork and discussion. In this exhibition, we developed a new spatial expression by paying attention to the dynamism and audio-visual scale of the daily physical distribution at the landfill site. Square lumber tickets will be mailed to participants by the day before the exhibition. The lumber has a QR code on the site with information such as meeting places and precautions. On the day of the exhibition, the participants gathered at the Aomi Passenger Ship Terminal and guided by Aokid, a "guide dance," boarded a small ship to tour Tokyo Bay. On board, films by Fujikura and a radio produced based on research are shown. Aokid works as a "guide dance" where participants dance with scenery, play games, and perform tasks on a checklist. After a 40 minute voyage, Aokid and the participants arrive at the tool yard of Tokai Shipping Co., Ltd., the customs broker, store the lumber on a designated shelf and receive a leaflet in return for the shipment. The leaflet contains images created by Fujikura reflecting his research, essays by Ryosuke Kondo, Naoki Saito and Takahiro Omura, and research notes by Aokid. In the toolroom, you can see Fujikura's video works, research photos, and checklists that Aokid records on each voyage.
