Business Overview
This is a continuation of the artist residency that Music from Japan started as a new trial in 2016. Music critics and composers from Japan and the United States were invited to participate in the event to contribute to mutual understanding and artistic enlightenment between participants from both countries through lectures, concerts, and post-concert forums. 1) Composing Seminar: Yoshihiro Kanno and Enka Mori, "Approach to Composing and Introduction of His Own Works" 2) Lecture: Akane MATSUDAIRA, "Japanese Vocal Works: From the Perspective of a Singer" Concert I: "Sai: From Japanese Contemporary Vocal Works" (selected by Akane MATSUDAIRA) 3) Lecture: Yuji NUMANO, "Trends in Modern Japanese Music in Recent Years" Concert II: "Recent Japanese Sounds III" (collection of works by Yoshihiro Kanno, Enka Mori and Akira Ito)

【 Music From Japan Promotion Executive Committee 】
A voluntary organization established in New York to promote the Music From Japan, Inc. (MFJ) project, which introduces Japanese contemporary music, classical and contemporary Japanese music to the United States and the world. Over the past 48 years, MFJ has commissioned music from corporate composers and has held concerts and educational programs in New York, Washington DC, the United States, Latin America, and Central Asia.
